Guild Executioner WiP

Did some more work on the Executioner.  Have to touch up a few spots still, and paint the base up.  Bought another light too, so future pictures should actually come out OK.

Finished Guild Models

Finished up Lady Justice, the Judge, and an Austringer prior to starting this blog.  Finally got around to taking some pictures.

I still need another light!  The camera is a harsh mistress... HUGE mold line on the Judge.  How did I miss that??

Also took a shot of my painted Guild to date.

Guild Rifleman WiP

Here's a Guild Rifleman I've been working on.  Love, love, love these models.

Also, painting red? Still fun.  Here's my recipe:

Vallejo Model Color 822 = German Camo Black Brown
Vallejo Model Color 908 = Carmine Red
Vallejo Model Color 909 = Vermillion
Vallejo Model Color 915 = Deep Yellow

Base of 822.
Highlight 2:1 822,  908.
Highlight 1:2 822, 908.
Highlight 908
Highlight 1:1 908, 909
Highlight 909
Line Highlight 1:1 909, 915

This model was also glazed 10:1  Matt Medium to the first highlight layer of 2:1 822, 908 only on the highlight parts.  Helps tie the layers together.

It's a deep, dark brown through a bright red, up to a thin line of orange.

Nomad Wildcat WiP

Started painting another Wildcat.  Such a change from the Malifaux I've been painting lately.

Orange is a 2:1 mix of Vallejo 909 and 915.

Grey will be Vallejo 869.

Death Marshall and Executioner WiP

Here's a couple of models I've been working on at the moment.

Death Marshal WiP:

Executioner WiP:

Italeri Leopard 1A4

Here's a tank I just finished.  Its part of my "saga" to complete a bunch of the armor/vehicles from the Wargame series of RTS.

Painted with Vallejo paint.  Washed with Burnt Umber and Lamp Black oils, then applied a streaking affect with Buff oil paint.

Coat of Dullcoat, and she's done!

Decals and tracks were a wreck since the kit is ~40 years old.  Good enough for the shelf, I think.

Sonnia Criid

Here are the first few Malifaux models I've painted.  They are from the Guild's  Sonnia Criid Crew.

I've enjoyed my first few games of Malifaux, I love the emphasis on objectives and the card flipping is a really cool aspect of the game. It seems really balanced, too.

About Me

Hey everyone!

Since this is the first post, I figure I'll give you some background about myself.

I've been gaming for around 10 years now.  I've played a good number of systems, but I'm currently smitten with Malifaux and Infinity.  This blog will journal what I'm up to in the hobby.  I'll focus on painting and terrain, with the occasional tournament/gaming report as well.

Nomad Wildcat

I also do a bit of scale modelling on the side, so I'm sure there will be some posts on that.
